Accepts RSA PKCS#1 PEM, RSA/Ed25519 PKCS#8 PEM, and OpenSSH keys. Encrypted PKCS#8 must use PBES2/PBKDF2 with AES-CBC; encrypted OpenSSH must use bcrypt with AES-256-CTR. Certificates and public keys are not private keys.
